Jack, Jack, JACK.
Jack, Jack, JACK.
Nope, screw canon. River was a Time Agent too.
What if River and Jack were partners after John Hart got in trouble was temporarily suspended for some reason? So River was paired with Jack and they’d go on assignments but make sure to be faster than their deadline so they had time to go off and find some conquests or some other sort of adventure together. And they fucked once and absolutely loved it but realized that they got on better as work partners and so they’d just go off on the pull and then regale each other with tales of their nights. And sometimes they’d find someone they both liked and have a threesome or more. And then the Doctor called River and River already knew she couldn’t tell Jack about him so she left to go hang with the Doctor and by then John Hart was done with his suspension so they were paired up again.
Okay, I just created a new headcanon out of thin air.
And that is also my headcanon too. Because Jack and River clearly compliment each other’s personality. So yepp.
Why the HELL would anyone hate Tosh? She is truly the most under-appreciated character on Torchwood. Ianto fans say Ianto doesn’t get enough recognition, Owen fans say Owen doesn’t get enough recognition. However, both those characters have TONS of fans who love and miss them. Yet just like the characters on the show, the fandom overlooks Toshiko.
In my mind I kind of refer to Tosh, Owen, and Ianto as “the Torchwood trio.” Because as much as I love Jack and Gwen, those three MADE the first two series’ of Torchwood what they were, and it couldn’t have been done without them.
Tosh worked for Torchwood Three for around five years, longer than any of them besides Jack, obviously. And unlike the others, Tosh didn’t really choose to join. Her options were: work for Torchwood or spend her life in solitary confinement for crimes that weren’t her fault. She could have resented that choice. She could have hated Jack. But she didn’t. She poured her life and her love into her work. Of the entire team, Tosh strikes me as the only one who truly loved working for Torchwood. Instead of growing pessimistic and cynical like some of her coworkers, Tosh remained an optimist. Finding alien life gave her hope, it didn’t bring her sorrow. It gave her hope that the universe was bigger and better than the hand she’d been dealt.
No matter how poorly everyone treated her, no matter how much they overlooked her or took her for granted, Tosh never failed them. She was loyal to Torchwood and to Jack. Torchwood gave her a place to belong, something Tosh never truly had before. Torchwood saved her life, and in return, she gave them hers.
So sit the fuck down and never tell me Toshiko Sato was anything short of extraordinary.
ABSOLUTELY THIS AND THIS FOREVER.
Jack: You know, These creatures are very quiet.
Owen: Maybe they’re sleeping.
Ianto: …Or hatching.
Toshiko: Or maybe they aren’t creatures at all…
Happy Birthday gorgeous!
And done, that’s all the Ianto in Fragments screencaps I had lying around.
I might do another picspam soon, I’ll think about it.
